The Fruitvale District has everything one needs including an amazing Pharmacy. I just visited the Pharmacy with pretty challenging issues around a family member. Shout out to Marianne for her patience and supportive help. And to another staff member who was their filling in today. Apologies for not getting her name. If you need an amazing, professional, supportive pharmacy, Matt says before you get your grocery shopping at Farmer Joe's grocery or your coffee at Peet's, get your pharmacy needs at the local CVS.

I went there today for an appointment and waited 25 minutes in line for one line to immediately be told I could just go stand in the other line when no signage was available to tell me that. Then when I got to the second line, the young woman pharmacist there ignored me for several minutes, talking to her colleagues about her phone and personal life in a deliberate attempt to ignore me. then, after standing there quietly and patiently, she finally acknowledged me only to berate me for coming there, shoo me away and tell me that she couldn’t help me, even though I had scheduled an appointment there. I’ve never been shooed away by a pharmacist before, let alone one who’s just standing there talking to her colleagues about her phone, but it was clear that she didn’t like something about me and did not want to serve me at all. Please talk to this young woman pharmacist in regards to her demeanor towards customers as her cell phone seemed more important than doing her job when there was a long line of people waiting for service. It’s pretty sad to see someone with such a lack of compassion in humanity working a job in which just a basic expectation of decency would go a long way.

I pulled up to the pharmacy at 7:30pm and they told me it was closed. My whole thing is this: What about the people who work and dont have time to come to come early for their medication?? Yall should at least close by 8pm to serve people who work. Walgreens pharmacy closes at 9pm… take notice of that and make the change.

So tonight, February 18, 2026 approximately about I want to say 6 o’clock we went to CVS. I believe this is the Fruitvale store and we were looking around. I was going to purchase something I didn’t however I want to say like the last three years they have had this Policy that if you find an item on the shelf that has expired, they will give you a courtesy coupon which is approximately anywhere between 250 to 3 $ sometimes even five dollars. If you find an expired item, my daughter found an expired item. We stood in line. We explained to the young sales person. There was a young man and he didn’t understand. He called over the manager now this is the only reason I’m gonna say what race is is because he was the only black person there proceeds to tell my daughter that she was wrong. The date on the item set January. I believe it was January 20, 20 26 so it had expired keep that in mind he took her it said generated 2029 then proceeded to tell her she Had dyslexia I don’t know if he was trying to be funny, but my daughter is very polite. Very mild mannered. She said excuse me can I see the item because my mother looked at it and it was expired he laughed then the coworker, a white woman that he proceeded to start talking to said I just give it to him because otherwise you just make a big deal out of it he proceeded to cuss say a cuss word in front of her ask for her phone number three times as if he couldn’t understand her or hear her and we’re black by the way then he proceeded to give her the reward which was basically a five dollar coupon. We looked at each other and we left and I did ask the lady who had moved down. Was she a manager? She said no but what’s the problem? I said never mind. The one thing I don’t think people understand is when you’re educated and mild mannered as myself I tend to go on Google and I will make a review to let others know what they may encounter when dealing with certain people I will also be calling. Customer service complaint line because everything that manager did was very rude .

In a world of declining pharmacy services, they still manage to stand out for their incompetence and lack of care. When I went to get my refills- 1 of 13 was done. When I went back today- after checking the system which told me they were all ready- only 5 were done. Worse not one of the employees apologized or offered to try and troubleshoot. They just shrug their shoulders and say ‘I dunno’. Fortunately I was already going to change pharmacies next week, but I fear for anyone who has to use them. If I could give them zero or negative stars I would.
