To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the pharmacy staff at the CVS location on Rosemont Road in Virginia Beach. My mother has been a loyal customer of this pharmacy for over 15 years, since the store first opened. She is 83 years old, a Type 2 insulin-dependent diabetic, and has ongoing heart conditions. She takes approximately 8–10 medications daily. She is not seeking special treatment or financial consideration; she is simply paying for a service and expects to be treated with professionalism, respect, and appropriate medical responsibility. On Sunday morning, we called the pharmacy to request delivery of her Dexcom G7 and her insulin. We were informed that they were working on preparing the insulin and that once it was ready, it would be delivered. The staff verified the credit card on file and stated that if they were unable to complete the request that day, we would receive a callback. We did not receive any follow-up communication. Concerned, I called back at 5:00 PM and was informed that the staff member I had spoken with earlier had not followed through. There was no prior notification, no update, and no indication that the request had not been processed. This situation is extremely concerning. Insulin is a life-sustaining medication. Failure to follow through or communicate regarding such a critical prescription for an elderly, insulin-dependent patient reflects a serious lapse in responsibility and care. While I understand that pharmacies are busy, medications of this nature should never be handled casually or without proper follow-up. In addition to this specific incident, interactions at this location have consistently been marked by dismissive attitudes and a lack of courtesy. Conversations often feel rushed and inconvenienced, rather than patient-centered. Pharmacy staff operate in a healthcare environment, and a basic level of empathy and professionalism should be expected—especially when serving elderly patients with complex medical needs. My mother deserves to feel respected and secure in knowing her essential medications are handled responsibly. I trusted CVS to uphold a standard of care that reflects its role in healthcare delivery. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet that expectation. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and that appropriate steps be taken to ensure improved follow-through, communication, and patient care at this location. No elderly patient should feel overlooked when it comes to critical medication management. Sincerely, The Salmon Family

i’m not sure who liz is but you have associates talking wrong about you in the pharmacy and one lady with long braids took it upon herself to say you belong in a morgue…. i’m not sure if you are management or not but i was sitting up there checking in for about 10 - 15 mins and all i was hearing was 3 ladies on 4-5-26 around 4:30 gossiping about someone’s boyfriend chilling and relaxing i understand it may be slow at times but for it to be slow and me sitting there for the amount of time i was standing there with no acknowledgment makes no sense to me the one young man doing his job was the one to inform the gossipers “should i help the people up front or do you got it” shout out to you sir because with the chatty kathy’s back there who knows how long my time would have been wasted

Extremely rude pharmacist, Mr. Bertie, would not release my prescription that I’ve been picking up here every month for YEARS. My policy renews annually and my new policy no longer covers the medication. So even though they ran it through my insurance and it came back as not a covered medication, and I’m willing to pay for it without any insurance, and my doctor called and confirmed the prescription was prescribed & even submitted a doctor authorization form… Mr Bertie said my health insurance company needs to call their pharmacy and speak to HIM, not anyone else in the pharmacy, to tell him why they don’t cover the medication… he said if they speak to anyone in the pharmacy (who is not a pharmacist) that would not be acceptable, only a pharmacist can enter notes in their system. I asked if he could call my insurance company to get whatever explanation he needed so they wouldn’t have to try and catch him when he was working and he said, “no, your insurance company can call me”. I then asked when he would be working next so they could be sure to call when he was there and he said he wouldn’t be there for the next few days. Unbelievable. CVS you can hire better!

The store and its associates are awesome, BUT the actual pharmacy is terrible, I have not had one positive experience picking up prescriptions. The staff are lazy and incompetent. I had to make a complaint to headquarters which is still awaiting resolution, all are unacceptable. Fill your meds elsewhere!
