Julina Stout a month agoThis happened in November 2025- My 8 yo daughter had surgery, and the surgery center sent her prescriptions to this pharmacy because it was nearby. I waited in the drive-thru line, and just as it became my turn, the pharmacist announced they were closing for lunch and told me to come back in 30 minutes. I explained that my daughter had just come out of surgery, was in pain and nauseated, and asked if they could please help us before closing since we had already waited in line. There was no empathy or attempt to help — I was simply told we would have to wait. While waiting, my daughter became so sick that I brought her inside to get crackers and fluids because I didn’t want to leave her alone in the car. She ended up vomiting on the store floor. After getting her settled, we tried the drive-thru again, but the line was backed up, so we went back inside. Thankfully, the customers waiting in line showed far more compassion and allowed us to go to the front because they could see how sick she was. Then we were told that one of the medications — Zofran for nausea — had not been sent by the doctor. After leaving, I contacted the surgeon, who confirmed it had been sent. Once they got their act together I had to drive all the way back again to pick it up. The only reason I used this location was because it was next to the surgery center. There are several pharmacies much closer to our home, and I deeply regret choosing this one. I understand pharmacy staff deserve lunch breaks and that healthcare workers are overwhelmed. I’m a nurse myself, and I know firsthand how difficult healthcare can be. But compassion matters. In situations involving a post-op child actively sick and waiting at the counter, a little empathy and flexibility would have gone a long way. This location may stay busy because it’s open 24/7 and near the hospital and ER, but patient care and compassion should still matter.
Lindsey S a month agoYou know its going to be bad service when you pull up to the drive thru and the girl at the window has the most irritated mad expression on her face and kept getting frustrated. They acted like I came to the wrong CVS then it took almost 3 hours to get a medication after a ton of back and fourth. They kept telling me I was holding their line up and there was only one car behind mine. I will never use this cvs ever again if I dont have too. CVS company should be ashamed for the night shift that works here because they dont represent them well at all. Go somewhere else you wont regret it.
AJ 4 weeks agoThese reviews are misleading. The pharmacists and techs have very little control, if any at all, on when most medications can be delivered to their location. These people are working in terrible conditions with supply chain issues and shortages for which they have zero control. If you want to complain about those issues causing your refill or fill delays, then report complaints to your state, local government representatives, local/state DOI, thr pharmaceutical companies, the existence of PBMs (and CVS is a pharmacy but their "parent" company, simply put, do have a PBM, e.g. CVS Caremark), not to mention Private Insurance, which is Aetna. And they own some medical groups, facilities. Take what you will from that. tl;dr Google is free, these pharmacists and techs are human beings, too, and working face to face with a customer population often on the worst or one of the worst days of their life, and often for highly regulated drugs. You can thank the state and federal government failures and failed officials for the EPIC collection of failires that impact all of us, all of that...that got us here.
Bryan Hilyiard 5 months agoSome Rx pharmacists appear to be more honorable than others. There’s a blonde pharmacist at 8405 Southeastern who sneers rudely and treats customers with disdain. I have seen her kind of attitude before in other people who struggle in today’s over stressed, impossible workplace…but I’ve also seen this kind of aggressive snappiness in people who abuse stimulants like Dexedrine and Adderal, but then again, this is just my personal experience based on what I’ve personally observed, and I am not trained in this field. Also, yes, some pharmacists do lie, at least as far as I am able to discern. With a masters in Geochemistry and countless hours spent in social services, I see frustration, burnout and over-worked personalities who then might in turn resort to gaslighting others they feel might be less threatening/stressful/overwhelming than the pressures their bosses at CVS may be subjecting them to, especially in today’s ruthless work environment. As a customer, I’ve noticed that genuine smiles and quiet voices help, when I remember to employ them, however I might still find myself standing at the counter, waiting to be helped, while watching a kind of reverse parallel play unfold, where my presence is ignored while, say, a head pharmacist might tell jokes to his colleagues, or make a call which doesn’t appear to be even remotely urgent, or even timely. On the other hand, I have been treated with respect and with beautiful open-faced, receptive pharmacists, so I’ve have made a mental note of when the less helpful pharmacists tend to work during the week, but this can backfire due to a general shortage of trained pharmacists in the workforce, so substitutions between CVS branches are common when this mega-conglomerate attempts to staff absences, or cover shortages. Because I am new to the area, I am still searching for a mom-n-pop pharmacy. I’ve found CVS to be just too burdensome to attempt to navigate. I simply don’t have the time to help CVS solve problems. During the course of the year and I half I’ve lived here in Indianapolis, I’ve been astonished by the number of nearly unsolvable issues CVS has thrown my way, much of them (I believe) owing to a pharmacist’s desire to remain sitting upon their stool rather than standing up and checking an error or disconnect, or even following up on an open-ended issue. This appears, at least to my eyes, as the time when the less pleasant pharmacists resort to misinformation, deception, and/or blaming the customer. Fascinating to observe all of these behaviors, that is, if one is able to remain calm in the face of less than tolerant professionals. I will continue to seek out a mom-n-pop Rx. Good luck in the meantime, people. Stay safe, eyes open, no fear. 💜
Glenn Mack 2 months agoClaimed a medication had do not fill by date by the doc and was sent proof it did not and in fact the medication has a 2 day option to early fill. That was 4/27. Last night a script for one week of a medication was sent in (7pm in processing) said it would be ready at 11 pm. Come 1230 today i see they had filled a different medication and that one was delayed so I messaged for a callback and was told "uh uh we've busy and we will do now" from the pharmacist. Now its clear what is going on. The insurance tries to be the doctor and now the pharmacist?! Yeah filing complaints. Taking my meds elsewhere. Shame on you CVS.
