Every time I have to fill a prescription there is a new problem. My insurance isn't applied. The medication isn't covered so the prescription is canceled without notification. The prescription requires prior auth, and rather than inform myself or the doctor it is canceled. I have been trying to get a maintenance medication filled for 2 weeks now, and after finally being told on tuesday that it was covered and had to be ordered and being shipped from a central fill for thursday, I am now being told they dont know when it will arive and that it can not be transfered to another pharmacy because it has already been ordered. Every interaction with pharmacy staff has also included staff mumbling, answering questions before I can even finish asking them, and shooing me away before anything is even resolved so they can work on the next patient. While I sympathize with pharmacy staff being overworked, underpaid, and dealing with other patients problems and lack of understanding, I absolutely can not use this pharmacy any longer due to the systemic and cultural problems in the pharmacy.

Very Impressed with our experience with this CVS! We are in Austin because a family member needed to have heart surgery at St David’s. We live in San Antonio so I’m not familiar with the different pharmacy options, so when his Doctor asked where to send the small pill prescription to get him through before heading back to SAT, we chose the CVS (this one) closest to the hospital & our hotel. I called in before going to pick it up (since I saw the reviews) to make sure it was filled before heading over but it kept erroring out saying no match found using his birth date but did have an option to leave a message. I asked for a call back, which they did but I couldn’t pick up because I was carrying some of his bags to the car before being discharged. So first bonus, they did try to call me back!!! After we got settled back at the hotel, I called again and did get through and they informed me that it was ready!! We headed over and they were very nice and helpful at the drive thru. Just wanted to let them know that we appreciated the positive experience & to let them know that they are appreciated!!

Automated systems can't answer all questions and to not the give the option of a live person is ridiculous. Took four calls before I could get a live person and I had already gotten my sick child in the car to drive there to answer a simple prescription related question. Got a person as I was sitting there in the parking lot. Going elsewhere for future prescriptions. What about people.without a car or disabled.and can't drive. Too bad if you need to call CVS and talk to someone.

My husband had surgery and a small pain rx was called in at 4pm. Was told that they were too backed up to fill it before they closed at 9pm. HE NEEDED THAT RX AFTER SURGERY. I explained he was in PAIN from abdominal surgery and needed the meds to be able to SLEEP. CVS saw that the Rx was from the surgeon, was told that he was in pain from the surgery, and still decided to prioritize every other random fill for people that didn't need the meds that night and weren't picking them up. It was 10 pills of Tramadol. They treated him like he was some drug seeking junkie because he had surgery. HE WAS IN PAIN ALL NIGHT BECAUSE OF BEING TREATED LIKE A JUNKIE HERE. They can SEE his rx history and that he has NEVER had pain pills. AND YET. The next day that same pharmacist that I begged to fill it last night calls me and I told him that my husband was in pain all night and he said "So? We have more customers than just YOU". I understand that but you need to prioritize filling prescriptions for people requiring immediate medicine, like after a surgery over routine fills. That's BASIC MEDICAL PROCEDURE. It's not like we could have called it in EARLIER than the surgery.
